Since the dawn of the original iPhone in 2007 Apple has released a new model of thier super phone about once a year. There is little detail availible reguarding leaks but it is speculated that we will be due a new iPhone this Summer. A good clue for this is the beta testing of the the iPhone OS v3. It has been in beta for a few months now and Apple should be preparing to release the full version soon. Older Iphones and Ipod touches will be able to update but who wouldn’t want to get thier hands on the model designed for the software. There will be a $10 charge from Apple just like last time but this one will definitly be worth it becuase apple is promising over 100 new features!
Some new features that will be availble straight from the mouth of the Apple tree itself are:
- Search your iPhone
- Cut, Copy and Paste and that includes photos!
- Send photos, contacts, audio files, and location via MMS
- Read and compose email and text messages in landscape (Finally!!!)
- Peer-to-peer connectivity over Bluetooth for gaming and other info-swapping.
- Paid apps will have the potential to be subscription fee-based, and can include optional paid content that can be bought from within the app.
Developers can now build apps that call out to Google Maps
- Devs can also connect with hardware accessories over in their apps now, maybe a keyboard? Connectivity works through the dock connector or over Bluetooth.
- Unlocked Bluetooth functionality on 2G iPod touch!
- Auto-login for WiFi hotspots.
- YouTube account support.
- Form Auto-Fill
The new Iphone will be fine tuned to run the new OS and there are rumors of other features being added such as video support. Other than the new software there is little to base speculation off of but with Apple’s history it is going to be great. The community driven app store is going to take off aswell as they are being given new metheods of making a profit off you and new tools that they can work with. The Iphone is soon to go under a huge change.
