Here’s a review of the all new LG Xenon, the new touchscreen LG phone by my Girlfriend.
I quickly fell in love with the LG Xenon as soon as I saw it on the AT&T website when I was due for my upgrade. The Iphone so far, in my opinion, is the only cell phone to successfully implement a touch screen into their machines. All of the others, especially the Blackberry Storm, all had complications with not being able to press the buttons or poor response. I was also concerned about how, with the Iphone, the touch screen is only activated by the press of a finger, no stylus or fingernail, and for a girl with long nails, that can be a bit of a pain in the tail.
When I first bought the LG Xenon, I was immediately impressed with its form. Light weight and smooth corners, no clunky weight or edges, and it wasn’t too thick, like most slider phones. I quickly came to adore the full-keyboard slider with its large buttons in comparison to other full-keyboard phones. And for when I can’t slide the phone, say as to reply to a text message with only one hand available, the touch-screen keyboard uses your typical 6-button set up with T9 and symbols, and it recognizes the touch of my fingernail! Although I’ve yet to try a stylus with it.
The day I bought my phone was also consequently the day of my senior prom, so I got to fully test out the Xenon’s camera and video. The 2 mega pixel camera works like a dream, and the after-shot editing features are a blast. The camera was better quality than I have seen in many cameras, but if the light is not right, things can turn out pretty awkward, but that’s a common problem and not too much of a burden. And with multiple alarms, I never worry about having to set or reset one for common use.
The only problems I ever have with it is that I sometimes hit the “e-mail” button instead of the “a” on the side slider, and when playing certain games, the touch screen can need a bit of persuasion to get going.
But all in all, this is a wonderful phone. It was certainly a great bargain, and well worth the very few and minor problems for all of its amazing features. Best touch screen or slider cell phone on the market!
